How to Create a QR Code That Scans Reliably
Generate a QR code from a URL or text and choose practical size, margin, and content length.
Validate the content first
Use the complete HTTPS URL and remove accidental spaces. Longer content creates a denser code, which becomes harder to scan at a small size.
Choose size and quiet zone
A 240-pixel code is a useful starting point for screens. Printing requires higher resolution or a vector source. Keep a clear quiet zone around the code and do not place text or graphics too close.
Test the downloaded code
Test with at least two different phones and scanning apps. Before mass printing, print a sample at the final physical size and test it in low light, at an angle, and from the expected distance.
Use a stable destination
A QR code does not update itself. When the destination may change, point the code to a stable URL you control and redirect that URL to the current page.
